We shear our ewes in late January or early February of each year, shortly before lambing. This becomes the busiest season of the year for us as we are skirting and lambing at the same time. We then shear our males in late May or early June, ahead of the summer season.
All of our sheep are coated from birth to keep the wool as clean as possible. We heavily skirt our wool taking up to half the weight of the fleece. Once the fleece is ready, it has no vegetable matter or second cuts. Second cuts are actually not much of a problem for us because we have found an exceptional shearer who takes the time and pride to harvest top quality wool from our sheep.
We skirt each and every one of our fleeces as if they were going to be shown for competition. We take such pride in them and are so sure our customers will love them that we will refund the product price (minus shipping) if it is returned in the same state that it was shipped. We also welcome any comments. There is something to learn from all comments received and we take them very seriously.
We will announce on this page and on our Facebook page when we have fleeces available, probably in March 2016. If you are interested in finding out more about our fleeces, send us an email. We can also include you in our mailing list which goes out with fleece pictures and descriptions as soon as we have the fleeces skirted. We do not contact anyone on this list except for fleece availability announcements nor do we share your email with anyone.
